Confessions of a Time Share Salesperson

I was hoping for something more in-depth, but unfortunately the article only scratches the surface of how a timeshare salespeople operate. Even so, it's worth of luck to see some of the things that they do:

1. A scripted pitch: all timeshare salespeople will use a scripted pitch to increase the likelihood that you will buy a timeshare. When they appeared to just be chatting naturally with you it's all part of the script.

2. The puke price: the timeshare salespeople will give you an initial price so high that it will make you want to "puke" - what this in effect does, is make discounted prices look reasonable even when they are still outrageously high.

3. Fuzzy math: the timeshare salespeople also use a variety of fuzzy math which will make the timeshare seem like a good deal when compared to hotels or other lodging, but the map often doesn't add up.
